We evaluate our clients' residential, health, and financial needs, review nursing home contracts, negotiate with care providers, create trusts, transfer real estate, and prepare the estate plans our clients need to protect their assets or those of a family member.
Estate Planning
We guide our clients through the complexities of inheritance tax law and property rights,
clearly explaining their options and helping them select those that best meet their needs. Some of the strategies we may recommend include use of wills and trusts, living trusts, durable powers of attorney, living wills, estate and gift tax planning, family limited partnerships, and life insurance trusts. We also specialize in special needs trusts which enable disabled beneficiaries receiving public benifits to protect those benefits.
Probate and Estate Administration
We ensure that the deceased's estate and inheritance tax returns are filed properly, and that
assets are distributed correctly. If needed, we can serve as executors, trustees, or administators of an estate. Our extensive estate management experience will help guide clients through complex end-of-life issues.
Real Estate and Business Transactions
We represent both residential and commercial property owners in various real estate transactions, including purchase and sale, mortgage transactions, title issues, refinance, land use, and leases.
We also conduct mediations and represent clients in a variety of business transactions, including corporate operations, confidentiality agreements, corporate compliance, collections, the formation of partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations, and the purchase and sale of businesses and professional practices. In family businesses, there are important succession planning issues that are tied into the clients' overall estate planning.
